We generally follow the Revised Common Lectionary and the Liturgical Calendar, in observation of our Christian heritage and to provide a variety of scripture lessons read in worship.

The Worship Committee joins the Pastor and Church Musician in coordinating activities in worship. The Committee is responsible for worship resources, ushers, greeters, preparation of the Lord’s Supper and bulletins.

Children and Worship

Our elementary youth engage in worship classes from time to time throughout the year and participate actively in our services rather than leaving the service for children's church.  Our littlest worshipers, birth through Kindergarten, will continue to leave the sanctuary following the time for young disciples, to continue their worship activities in our nursery.

Our congregation needs to work together to both welcome and educate our young worshipers.  We are looking for volunteers in three areas:  nursery ministers; worship education team members; and, worship mentors. Please prayerfully consider your calling to one of these worship ministries.

Children are innately tuned into the Holy Spirit from an early age. With proper nurture, they too minister to the older generation (the over 25 year olds!) with their ability to see and hear the Spirit moving in our midst.  Welcome this new creation and enjoy worshipping with our children both traditionally and imaginatively.  D. Elton Trueblood said, "Faith is not belief without proof, but trust without reservation." This is the essence of children's worship.

"But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,

for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Luke 18:16 NIV
